Building Independence & Community Connections
At Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center, Inc. (SWACMHC), we believe that mental health treatment doesn’t stop at the clinic door. Our community-based services provide ongoing support for individuals with chronic mental illness, helping them develop the skills to live independently and stay engaged in their communities.
Skills for Living, Learning, & Thriving
Long-term wellness means more than symptom management—it means living independently, connecting with others, and building a meaningful life. Our Community Services Programs are designed for adults with chronic mental health conditions who need ongoing support to thrive.
Independent Living Skills
Training in everything from budgeting and shopping to cooking and self-care.
Socialization & Community Engagement
Small group activities that reduce isolation, build friendships, and strengthen communication skills.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)
Structured programs that teach coping strategies, symptom management, and emotional regulation.
Case Management
A lifeline for clients who need consistent support. Our case managers connect individuals with housing, healthcare, transportation, employment, and education resources, while also providing crisis stabilization when needed.
Available in Texarkana, Hope, and De Queen, these services give clients the confidence and support they need to live more independently in their own communities.
